Share the Love (We're Better Together)
After students, staff and parents persevered through a very challenging 2020-2021 academic year, the ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬¸ßÇ帣Àû and The Directors Showband teamed up to bring the community a one-of-a-kind return to class filled with hope and inspiration.
Beginning in April, Randi Katz and Tony Picciuto from the Directors Showband began to write the lyrics for an original song with the intention of highlighting the resilience of the ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬¸ßÇ帣Àû community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
With lyrics in the works, the ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬¸ßÇ帣Àû sought to ensure that the accompanying music video featured as many students, staff and families as possible.
Three families: The Chan’s (Bancroft Elementary in the Plateau), the Pisano’s (East Hill Elementary in RDP) and the Cheng’s (Gardenview Elementary in St. Laurent) won the opportunity to participate in the in-person filming of the music video. Furthermore, an additional 20 in-school events featured hundreds of students filmed for the final edit.
“This is a feel good video and song that indeed pays tribute to the entire ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬¸ßÇ帣Àû family and how we have managed in the wake of a pandemic that regrettably is still with us,” said ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬¸ßÇ帣Àû Chair Joe Ortona.
